Wow, such a wonderful read! I really hadn't thought about how "scrolling" has replaced searching, clicking, and discovering - but it's true. All the big social media platforms have trained us to enjoy scrolling through "for you" pages, but I think the best way to explore online is actively searching and clicking so you can discover new things and connect with new people. (Though I will say, the algorithmic recommendations can come in handy. I did discover Arca through TikTok after all!) I recently started exploring Wikipedia again after not using it for a while, and I've been having so much fun with it. Nothing beats the thrill of clicking link after link, falling further down the Wikipedia rabbit hole! Thanks for sharing your insights on this.
